Contract Project

The purpose of Contract project phase is to provide technical assistance and consultation during the evaluation of different yard proposals, further development of design material, participation into technical and commercial contract negotiations and assist in finalizing the contractual technical specification. The main aim of this phase is to reach a confirmed technical specification and support documents.

The work starts with proposals that are received from the bidding yards. The customer should decide which of the proposals look interesting and should be included in the first round of the evaluation process. The first evaluation round will be performed for maximum 10 yard proposals and will be concentrating in finding the deviations to tender material (I.E. Outline specification developed in earlier project phase) and listing these for each proposal with impact assessment of deviations and preparing a summary of all proposals.

After this a short listing of most interesting proposals should be performed and feedback given to shortlisted yards. The shortlisted yards should be given time to develop and update their proposals before arranging technical clarification meeting where Customer, Yard and Deltamarin would participate to discuss all different aspects of Yard proposal and especially items that were deviating from the Outline specification. After this the yard will continue developing its own material and Deltamarin will perform a more detailed assessment of technical specification.

After this round a preliminary selection of building yard should be made and discussions continued with only one yard. Then Deltamarin will continue updating and preparing proposals for final contractual material based on the final technical negotiations. Once the final technical details are agreed, Deltamarin can prepare final contractual documentation that can be parafied and will thus become final technical specification and supporting documents. This phase ends in the ship contract being signed.
